Thomas O'Malley

Thomas O'Malley is the charming alley cat.  He is a free spirit but longs to be part of a family.  This role requires a strong singer, actor and dancer.  He should be comfortable acting with a female counterpart.

Duchess

Duchess is the elegant and loving mother of the Aristokittens.  This role requires a lot of acting but very little singing.  She should be comfortable acting with a male counterpart.

Edgar

Edgar is the villainous butler of Madame.  He's allergic to the Aristocats and secretly despises them.  This part requires a strong actor with a strong singing voice.  The actor should also have a flair for comedy, the ability to play "mean" and be able to pull off a great fake sneeze!

The Aristokittens:  Toulouse, Marie & Berlioz

Toulouse and Berlioz are Duchess's sons.  Marie is their sister and a miniature version of Duchess.  Toulouse is the one who fancies himself a tough guy. Marie is spirited and sassy.  She is the youngest child and charming like her mother.  All three characters are on stage for most of the show and each should be a strong actor.  Some singing.

Scat Cat

The jazzy leader of the Alley Cats.  He or she is ultra hip and enjoys introducing the Aristokittens to jazz music.  Scat Cat leads the song "Ev'rybody Wants to Be a Cat" so this role calls for a strong singer with some smooth moves!  Can be played by a boy or a girl.

Roquefort the mouse

Roquefort is the brave house mouse who overcomes his fears and saves the Aristokittens from Edgar the butler.  This role requires a strong singer who can play innocent and frightened.  Can be played by a boy or a girl.

Madame

The kind and eccentric human owner of the Aristocats.  She loves her pets more than anything in the world.  A small character role that appears at the beginning and end of the show, so this actress would be double cast as an Alley Cat for the middle section of the show.

Napoleon & Lafayette

Two country dogs who are the comic relief of the show.  Napoleon is the power-hungry leader and Lafayette is the not-so-subservient Private.  No solo singing required but strong acting ability with a flair for comedy is a plus.  These characters will also be double cast as Alley Cats.  Can be played by boys or girls or one of each.

Amelia & Abigail Gabble

The two bold geese sisters who rescue Thomas O'Malley from the river and lead the way out of the country back to Paris.  They are comedic characters who sing a duet.  These actresses should be able to move convincingly as geese.  Will be double cast as Alley Cats.

The Featured Alley Cats - Hep, Mad, Slick & Wacky

These characters are the glue that holds the show together.  They are the storytellers who set up the scenes and comment on the action.  These parts call for strong speakers who are good at memorizing lines.  They are the jazz band that backs up Scat Cat in "Ev'rybody Wants to Be a Cat" so there will also be some singing.   They will function as a part of the chorus as well.  Can be played by boys or girls.

Vichy & Soisse (Vee-shee & Swahz)

Bit parts.  Two privates in the dog army who report to General Napoleon.  Will be double cast as Alley Cat chorus.

Alley Cats

The chorus.  A lot of stage time singing and dancing.  Practice moving like a cat!
